the island. Most of the beaches are situated in the quiet
southern part of the island, formed out of the rocky coastline.

"Where the action is"
This is the most popular beach for tourists. It
is a long beach near the centre with four bars,
two hotels, and four restaurants. Mambo beach is
the most popular beach in this area with a great
beach bar. Palm trees and perglas protect you from
the sun, topless swimming is a known phenomenon
here.
In the weekends in the evenings the beach bustles
with activity. Saturdays and Sundays are hotspots
for the pleasure seeking public with an international
character. |

This beach is the perfecr family choice, with it's

The beach lies between the Baya Beach and Zanzibar
at the end of the Caracasbaaiweg. The local population
like to swim here because they have much opportunity
to park their cars along the beach. Parties and
barbecues are often held in the evenings. The beach
is rather rocky and has a snack bar. |

"Crystal clear waters"
With its crystal blue water Cas Abou is one of the
most beautiful beaches in Curaçao. It can
be reached by driving through a sanded road with
green shrubs on either side. You can find enough
shade under the trees and parasols and can snorkel
along the rocky sides of the beach. |

This beach is a quay with sea sand and a place for
lying in the sand. It is a popular resort among
tourists and so it is always an enjoyable place
to visit. Cots and deck chairs can be found on the
beach where you can relax and hear light lounge
music in the background. Perhaps you would like
to visit the restaurant and the bar or simply be
served snacks on your deck chair. |

"White sands"
Knip beach is one of the most remote beaches but
definitely not the least popular one. In the weekend
many of the local population go to swim at Knip
because it is one of the largest and most scenic
beaches of the island. The sand is as white as snow.
The underwater world along the coast is a delight
for swimmers with snorkels. A few parasols and benches
can be found on the sand and throughout the week
the beach is quiet. |

Many locals often visit large Knip and little Knip
in the weekends. Entire families occupy the beaches
with chairs and ice jugs. Little Knip is large enough
but does not equal its big brother in natural beauty.

If you like privacy this is a perfect place to go
to. The beach is not that large but few people go
to swim here. Jeremi lies behind two high hills
with a lovely view. Here you will feel secluded

"Far from society"
Playa Kalki is a very secluded beach that lies totally
west of the island. Very few visitors go there.
You can find shade under the rocks behind the beach.
It is one of the most beautiful beaches for snorkelling.
The first corals can be found 10 metres under the
sea. Hotel Kura Hulanda Lodge is behind the beach.
It has a restaurant and a swimming pool. You can
go to the toilet or visit the bar in the hotel.

"Closer to nature"
The beach is closer to the centre than Knip or Westpunt.
Like the other beaches it lies between the rocks
west of the island. It is a nice beach for families
and you can snorkel along the rocks. You can buy
delicious snacks at the snack bar. In the weekends
mostly young people go to swim here. |

"A beach apart"
Westpunt has its own character. It has small round
stones instead of white sand. It is a beach for
nature lovers. From the rocks at the top you have
a panoramic view over the sea. Here you can also
park your car. A long the rocks in the sea you can
enjoy the world under the water.
Through the clear water you can look many metres
down at the bottom. Local fishermen use the beach
for storage and other activities. |

Curacao is proud of it's beer Amstel Bright,
a light beer with a smooth taste. The beer
is generaly drunk with a lemon slice in it. |
